- Winters in the Côte du Rhône are generally mild, with daytime temperatures often remaining pleasant, usually around 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. Nights can be cool, but temperatures rarely remain below zero for long. Rainfall is frequent, helping to recharge the water table after the dry summer months.
- Spring is a crucial time for vine growth. Temperatures begin to rise gradually, favoring the resumption of vegetation and the flowering of the vines. The days are longer and rainfall gradually decreases, allowing the vines to benefit from good growing conditions.
- Summer in the Côte du Rhône is hot and dry. Daytime temperatures can regularly reach and exceed 30 degrees Celsius. This heat is beneficial for grape ripening, promoting the development of aromas and sugars in the berries. Sunny days are abundant, but nights remain relatively cool, helping to preserve grape acidity, a key element in the balance of red wines.
- Autumn is harvest time on the Côte du Rhône. The days are often warm and sunny in September, providing optimal conditions for the final ripening of the grapes. Harvesting generally takes place in September and October, taking advantage of the still pleasant temperatures and cool nights. Rainfall can increase slightly towards the end of autumn, but this does not usually affect the quality of the harvest.
