Staying at Château Pape Clément is a unique experience.
Located near the entrance to the centre of Bordeaux, this oasis of calm looks out over sixty hectares (148 acres) of vines surrounding the neo-Gothic-style château. In the middle of its grounds, one thousand-year-old olive trees and an imposing Lebanon cedar tree silently watch over the Château, subtly revealing its period charm.

About
our rooms
Some experiences can be described; others need to be lived.
Bernard Magrez is pleased to open the doors of the Graves region’s iconic château: Château Pape Clément
Once owned by Bertrand de Goth, who was made Pope in the reign of Philip IV, the château offers guests a stay that will take them back through history in an atmosphere of luxury and tranquillity.
Each of its five bedrooms offers charm, elegance and refinement to provide a truly captivating experience.
The Egrégore
suite
Inviting and elegant, the Egrégore suite has been tastefully designed in tones of grey, linden and bistre, in harmony with the Bernard Buffet collections that feature on its walls.
The Baccarat crystal chandelier is beautifully set off by the sumptuous black marble of the great fireplace and the bathroom and brings lovely elegance to the suite.
The touch of Baroque adds to the stylishness of the waxed parquet floor, the comfort of the double bed and the warm leather of the black armchair, in which you can chill out and enjoy some reading.
The Mon Seul Rêve
suite
Evoking adventure and passion, the Mon Seul Rêve suite appears to have checked in at the château with its suitcases, but its soul seems to have stayed in some other place.
With its elusive themes and exotic, vegetal décor found on each of the walls, this room beckons the guests towards distant lands.
While admiring the dreamlike panorama outside, observant guests will appreciate the shadow of the Château’s crenelated wall, created by the afternoon sun in the gardens of the Pavillon du Prélat at tea-time.
The Prestige
bedroom
This room is suggestive of distinguished ladies from good families and a bygone era in which temperance was a virtue.
A robust bed, in which the owner slept, stands on a polished wood parquet floor, while the décor exhibits a richly decorated, embroidered tension fabric on the walls.
Its pendant chandelier, an elegant glittering crystal jewel, sets off the dazzling pink marble in which the adjacent bathroom has been built.
The Clos des
Songes suite
The sensation of being in a château is enhanced by the gold-embroidered bed canopy and a white marble fireplace featuring a wide pediment mirror.
As you enter the Clos des Songes, the lacquered wood of the antique furniture pieces and the parquet floor catch the sunlight that reflects into the whole room.
This is the ideal place to fulfil your château-stay dreams.
The Classique
Tranquillité bedroom
Enjoy a stunning view over the Château’s grounds and the sumptuous Lebanon cedar tree, a symbol of freedom and a piece of French Revolution heritage.
